Venous disorders / Phlebology

Many people suffer from venous diseases.

Millions of people in Germany suffer from venous diseases. The most common are varicose veins (varices), which are not only aesthetically displeasing but can also pose a serious medical problem. The symptoms associated with varicose veins range from a feeling of heaviness and swelling to skin changes on the lower legs and even leg ulcers.

If left untreated, venous disease can lead to phlebitis, which, if left untreated, can result in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with life-threatening complications. A venous thrombosis (blood clot formation) occurs due to vascular damage or slowed blood flow. If such a clot breaks loose, it can cause a pulmonary embolism.

While small spider veins are primarily a cosmetic problem, varicose veins lead to significant feelings of tension and heaviness, even pain.

The goal of any vein treatment is to "eliminate" the diseased veins while taking aesthetic concerns into account.
