Many people suffer from vein diseases
Many millions of people in Germany suffer from vein diseases. The most widespread are the nodular thickened varicose veins (varices), which not only disturb the aesthetic perception, but can also pose a serious medical problem. The symptoms associated with varicose veins range from a feeling of heaviness and a tendency to swelling to skin changes on the lower legs and leg ulcers.
If a vein disease remains untreated, it can lead to phlebitis which, if left untreated, can lead to deep vein thrombosis with life-threatening complications. Venous thrombosis (blood clot formation) occurs as a result of vascular damage or slow blood flow. If such a clot breaks loose, it can trigger an embolism in the lungs.
While small spider veins are primarily a cosmetic problem, varicose veins lead to significant feelings of tension and heaviness, and even pain.
The aim of any vein treatment is to "switch off" the diseased veins, taking into account aesthetic concerns.
