Removal of dilated vessels
Painless treatment with KTP laser
Removal of dilated vessels
Redness and small vascular changes such as couperose, telangiectasia, hemangioma and rosacea can be successfully removed by our dermatologists with the laser (KTP laser).
How does laser therapy work?
The high-energy green laser beam passes through the upper layers of the skin and unfolds its effect in the hemoglobin (red blood pigment). Here the green light is converted into heat and unwanted blood vessels can be targeted and sclerosed. Laser treatment with KTP Laser is almost painless. During the treatment you feel a slight pinching sensation, cooling before and after the treatment reduces sensitivity to pain.
How many treatments are necessary?
The treated areas heal after some time (up to several weeks), and the completely closed vessels disappear. Depending on the extent, depth and thickness of the vessels, the therapy may have to be carried out several times. Follow-up treatment of the same region should be carried out after four weeks at the earliest.
Duration of treatment
Depending on the extent of the skin area to be treated, the actual laser treatment can take up to 30 minutes. Larger areas require treatment in several sessions.
Possible side effects
Occasionally pigment disorders can occur, which disappear again after a few weeks. Tanned skin may lose pigmentation and lighten in the treated areas. Intensive sunbathing or visits to solariums can lead to excessive tanning of the treated areas. Therefore, these should be avoided within the next four weeks. Sunscreen with a high SPF 50 should be used daily.
After treatment
Ideally, the vessels are completely closed or at least narrowed after the laser treatment. In order not to ruin the success of the treatment, you should avoid hot showers, sauna sessions (for four weeks), sports, etc. avoid in the days following treatment.
